What to Expect in an Art Therapy Session
At VK Creative Circle, our art therapy sessions take place in a welcoming and creative environment designed to inspire healing through art. Our space has an art studio vibe, offering an open, non-traditional setting where you can fully immerse yourself in the creative process, often alongside your therapist.
During your first session, we’ll focus on understanding you as an individual—your goals, challenges, and personal history. While this intake session may involve more conversation to build a strong therapeutic relationship, creating art will still be part of the experience. Moving forward, each session is customized to suit your needs, blending creative expression with discussion to help you reach your personal therapeutic goals. Together, we may work on new artistic techniques or even collaborate on a piece, ensuring each session is tailored to you.
Our approach is rooted in building a trusting, supportive relationship, centered on authenticity, compassion, and creative exploration. As trained art therapists, we use a variety of methods to craft personalized therapy that addresses your unique needs, helping you grow and heal in a way that feels right for you.

Preparing for a Session

Insurance and Payment
We accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and BCBS of MA insurances. Please confirm your coverage details, including any copayments or deductibles, with your provider. If your insurance doesn’t fully cover the cost, you will be responsible for any remaining balance.
Scheduling and Payment
To schedule your first session, contact us for a free 30-minute consultation. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards, with payment due at the time of service. If needed, we offer a sliding scale fee based on your financial situation, which can be discussed before your first session.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel, please give us at least 24 hours' notice. If we don't receive proper notice, a fee may be charged, except in emergency situations.
How do I know if art therapy is right for me?

Will anyone see my artwork?

How long do I need to do art therapy?

What if I feel unsure about where to start, what to create, how to approach the process, or create any kind of art?
That’s completely fine! Your therapist will guide you through the process, providing prompts and suggestions to help you get started. The focus is on exploring and expressing yourself, not on making something perfect or finished.
Do I need to be an artist to benefit from art therapy?
No, art therapy is for everyone, regardless of artistic skill. The focus is on the process of creating art and self-expression, not the final product.
